Christmas Assembly Revised Schedule for the Day (Dec 19)

I began the class today by mentioning to students what they would be working on when they returned from the Christmas break.

The grade 11’s (TEJ3M) will be working on the robotics unit (lego mindstorm) when they return from the Christmas break.  For the first week back I will have them work on some introductory activities (in their pairs) and then will give the students them the second part of their final project (the first part of their final project – Arduino traffic light summative was worth 15% of their overall grade).  The second part of the project is also worth 15% of their overall grade and will be from the robotics unit.

The grade 12’s will be working on the electronics unit (arduino) when they return from the Christmas break.  For the first week back I will have them work on some tutorials (individually) and then will give them the second part of the final project (same as the grade 11’s).  The second part of the project is also worth 15% of their overall grade and will be from the electronics unit.

I had told the students yesterday to bring in some treats in for our class today so we could have a pot luck (I left it open ended so that those students that did not want to participate did not have to).  I also asked the students to bring in some of their own board games and other related activities to class.  Some students then broke up into groups to play some of the games.  I also brought in some of my own games for those students that wanted to play a game together as a class.
