Revised Schedule for the day – Nov 5, 2014
I began the class today by mentioning to the students that I would give them 15 more minutes to finish their test if they needed it (the students wrote the test yesterday). For those students that were finished, I wrote on the board the homework the students were to complete after the test yesterday (Page 203 & 204 #1 – 5). Students mentioned to me that they either didn’t see the homework on the board or did not complete it so I told them I would re-assign it for today. After the 15 minutes, I then told the students that I would be starting a new lesson. The new lesson was titled “4.2 Relating the Standard & Vertex Forms: Completing the Square”. I first went over a few key concepts and definitions before showing the students some examples. After going over the examples, I then re-assigned the homework from yesterday plus added a few more questions from today’s work (Page 203 & 204 #1 – 5(ab only) – yesterday’s homework; Page 214 #69(a – d only) – today’s homework).
