REMINDERS: PARENT TEACHER INTERVIEWS ARE OCT 23 SO PLEASE TRY TO BOOK A TIME WITH ME ASAP. PROGRESS REPORTS WERE GIVEN OUT ON FRI OCT 17. STUDENTS ARE TO RETURN THE BOTTOM PORTION OF THE PROGRESS REPORT ASAP (SIGNED BY PARENTS IF YOU ARE LESS THAN 18 YEARS OLD).
I began the class by handing back the marked unit 1 test from chapter 4 ratios & proportions the students wrote a few weeks ago (Oct 7). I went over the answers to the test on the digital projector and told the students that they should look over their tests to make sure they understood the concepts and to double check to make sure I did not mark anything incorrectly on their tests (I posted a copy of the answers below).
After taking up the test, I then asked the students if they had any questions from Friday’s homework. After taking up the questions on the board, I then moved on to the lesson for today which was titled “1.7 Volume of a cone”. I first went over some key concepts before showing the students the formula for the volume of a cone. I then did some examples before assigning the homework for the students to work on for the remainder of the period (Pages 31 & 32 #1 – 5).
Below you will find a copies of the handouts/worksheets that were distributed/assigned in today’s class.
