Exam Reminders and Cancellations due to Inclement Weather
I began the class today by talking to the students about the EQAO assessment that the students had to write on Jan 14 & Jan 15. I then told the students which open response questions I chose to mark as a part of their culminating task (this is worth 9% of their final grade). After going over the questions with the students, I then took up the worksheet titled “Collecting Like Terms Worksheet” which I gave the students yesterday (see the Jan 15 blog posting for further details). The questions from this worksheet should be review of a concept which we covered back in September. After taking up the worksheet, I then told the students that we would be doing a new lesson today. This is the last lesson of the course. The titled of the lesson was “Adding & Subtracting Polynomials and Distributive Law”. I first went over a few importance concepts related to distributive law (this is the distributive law: a(b + c) = ab +ac) and then I did a number of examples to help the students with the homework for today. The students were to complete the worksheets titled “Adding & Subtracting Polynomials Worksheet” and “Using Distributive Property Worksheet”. I had also assigned a final exam review for the students on Wed Jan 14 (this was given to students after EQAO). The title of this review package was “MFM1P Final Exam Review”. The students are to complete this for this weekend as well. I will take up any questions the students have from today’s homework at the start of Monday’s class or students can email me directly if they have any questions (abawa@office.ldcsb.on.ca).
Below you will find a copies of the handouts/worksheets that were distributed/assigned in today’s class.
