IMPORTANT: THE STUDENTS WILL BE WRITING THE EQAO GRADE 9 MATH ASSESSMENT ON JAN 14 AND JAN 15 (THERE ARE 2 DAYS OF THE ASSESSMENT). STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO BE PRESENT ON BOTH DAYS. I WILL BE COUNTING THE EQAO TEST AS THE CULMINATING ACTIVITY FOR THE COURSE WHICH IS 9% OF THE STUDENTS’ FINAL GRADE IN THE COURSE.
I began class today by taking up the worksheet that I had given the students to work on Thur Jan 8 (this was the last time we had class). The title of the worksheet was “Linear Equations Worksheet” (I took this up on the digital projector and also posted a copy of the answers below). After going over the answers to the worksheet I then mentioned to the students that we would be doing a new lesson today. The title of the lesson was “Solving One & Two Step Equations”. I first went over the definition for solving an equation and then gave the students some examples directly related to the homework. The worksheets are titled “One-Step Equations With Integers Worksheet” and “Two-Step Equations With Integers Worksheet”. I will take up any questions the students have at the start of tomorrow’s class or students can email me directly if they have any questions (abawa@office.ldcsb.on.ca).
