MFM1P – Dec 17, 2014

IMPORTANT:  THE STUDENTS WILL BE HAVING A UNIT TEST ON CHAPTER 6 (SECTION 6.1 TO 6.5 FROM THE TEXTBOOK) ON THUR DEC 18.  I WILL ALLOW THE STUDENTS TO HAVE A “CHEAT SHEET” FOR THEIR TEST ON THUR DEC 18.  THIS CHEAT SHEET IS 8.5″ BY 11″ (LETTER SIZE) DOUBLE SIDED AND THE STUDENTS CAN WRITE ON IT (NOT TYPED) WHATEVER THEY WANT (EXAMPLES, FORMULAS …ETC).  STUDENTS CANNOT PHOTOCOPY SOMEONE ELSE’S SHEET.  I WILL GIVE THE STUDENTS TIME IN CLASS ON WED DEC 17 TO WORK ON THEIR “CHEAT SHEETS”.

I began the class today by taking up a question from the homework from a few days ago (this question was emailed to me on Dec 15 and is from Section 6.4 – Page 207 #3).  After taking up the question on the digital projector, I then showed the students some EQAO questions that I did the solutions for on the digital projector as an example of questions that are similar to ones they would see from this unit (sections 6.1 to 6.5).  After showing the students the sample EQAO questions, I then told the students that I wanted them to work on their “cheat sheet” or the following questions from the textbook:  Page 248 #1 to 5 – Chapter Review sections 6.1 to 6.5 and Page 250 #1 to 6 – Chapter Test.  If there are any questions the students the students have from today’s homework then they should email me directly (abawa@office.ldcsb.on.ca) or they can come see me at lunch tomorrow before the unit test.
