At the beginning of last week I talked to both the grade 11’s (TEJ3M) and grade 12’s (TEJ4M) about their summative tasks which I went over on the digital projector. The summative task is worth 10% of their grade and is due for both classes by Fri Dec 19 (by the end of the period).
The summative for the grade 12’s (TEJ4M) will be from the lego robotics unit. The grade 12’s are to complete the final course which I made for them in class (a copy of the course can be found below). The students are to work in pairs and are to do the following: 1.) Write a written report, 2.) submit commented code for their final course and 3.) have a video taken of their robot completing the final course. A copy of the assignment with rubric can be found below. I have also posted an example of the written part below for the students to use as a template. This is worth 10% of their final mark and is due by Fri Dec 19 (by the end of the period).
The summative for the grade 11’s (TEJ3M) will be from the electronics unit, specifically arduino. The grade 11’s are to create a traffic light with a button on the arduino board that will be able to switch through 4 different sequences (a copy of the assignment can be found below). The students are to work in pairs and are to do the following: 1.) Write a written report, 2.) submit commented code for their final traffic light sequences and 3.) have a video taken of their traffic light going through all of the different sequences. I have also posted an example of the written part below for the students to use as a template. This is worth 10% of their final mark and is due by Fri Dec 19 (by the end of the period).
Once students are finished everything for their summative task, I will be giving them their next task to work on. The grade 11’s (TEJ3M) will be working on the robotics unit. They are to choose a partner and then will be given a lego robotics kit to begin working on the tasks I assign them. The grade 12’s (TEJ4M) will be working in the electronics unit, specifically arduino. I will be giving them a breadboard trainer and an ardunio board to use and will begin working on the tasks I assign them.
Below you will find a copies of the handouts/worksheets that were distributed/assigned in today’s class.
