I began the class today by taking up questions from the homework that were emailed to me yesterday (I took the questions up on the digital projector). After taking up the questions, I then mentioned to the students that we would be doing a lesson that was related to the one we did yesterday. The title of today’s lesson was “6.3 Other Rates of Change”. I reviewed a few important concepts like “rate of change” and “average speed” and then I introduced the term “slope” to the students. After going over these terms, I then did some more examples with the students to help them with today’s homework. The students are to do the following for homework for homework this weekend: Pages 203 & 204 #1 to 8 and also the worksheet titled “Slope from a Graph Worksheet”. Students can email directly if they have any questions (abawa@office.ldcsb.on.ca).
Below you will find a copies of the handouts/worksheets that were distributed/assigned in today’s class.
