IMPORTANT: WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN AN EXTENSION ON THE CHRISTMAS DOOR DECORATING CONTEST WHICH WILL NOW BE JUDGED ON TUE DEC 9. I ASKED THE STUDENTS TO BRING IN MATERIALS FROM HOME (E.G. SCRAPBOOK PAPER, SCISSORS, CONSTRUCTION PAPER…ETC) SO WE CAN WORK ON OUR DOOR. WE WILL BE DOING A LITTLE BIT OF WORK ON OUR DOOR AGAIN IN CLASS ON FRI DEC 5, SO STUDENTS SHOULD BRING IN THEIR MATERIALS ON OR BEFORE THIS DAY. ALSO, 2 STUDENTS CAME TO OUR CLASS EARLIER THIS WEEK TO TALK ABOUT THE PROJECT ANGEL CAMPAIGN. WE WERE GIVEN A SHEET WITH THE CHILD WE ARE TO EITHER RAISE MONEY FOR OR BRING IN A GIFT FOR. STUDENTS ARE TO BRING IN MONEY/GIFT BY FRI DEC 12. I POSTED A COPY OF THE SHEET WE WERE GIVEN BELOW.
Project Angel (Due by Dec 12) (students are to bring in money or a gift or both)
I began the class today by doing a lesson from the new unit we are working on from Chapter 5 Trigonometry and Acute Triangles which was titled “5.1 Applying Trigonometric Ratios”. I mentioned to the students that I was just going to review some of the important introductory concepts today (Pythagorean Theorem & Primary Trig Ratios) because there were a number of students that were away because of the Grade 11 Religion Field Trip. I will go over this lesson again at the start of tomorrow’s class and will also continue with more examples from this lesson tomorrow. I assigned the homework for the students to work on for tonight but mentioned to the students that I would be re-assigning this work tomorrow along with some more questions for the weekend (Pages 271 & 272 #1 to 9).
After giving the students the homework, I then divided various tasks for the students to help decorate our door for the door decorating contest which will now be judged on Tue Dec 8. We used most of the period to work on decorating the door today.
