IMPORTANT: THE STUDENTS WILL BE HAVING A UNIT TEST COVERING ALL OF THE MATERIAL FROM CHAPTER 7 (EXPONENTIAL FUNCTIONS) ON TUE DEC 2.
REMINDER: WE HAVE A CHRISTMAS DOOR DECORATING CONTEST WHICH WILL BE JUDGED ON FRI DEC 5. I ASKED THE STUDENTS TO BRING IN MATERIALS FROM HOME (E.G. SCRAPBOOK PAPER, SCISSORS, CONSTRUCTION PAPER…ETC) SO WE CAN WORK ON OUR DOOR. WE WILL BE WORKING ON OUR DOOR AGAIN IN CLASS ON WED DEC 3, SO STUDENTS SHOULD BRING IN THEIR MATERIALS ON OR BEFORE THIS DAY. ALSO, TODAY 2 STUDENTS CAME TO OUR CLASS TODAY TO TALK ABOUT THE PROJECT ANGEL CAMPAIGN. WE WERE GIVEN A SHEET WITH THE CHILD WE ARE TO EITHER RAISE MONEY FOR OR BRING IN A GIFT FOR. STUDENTS ARE TO BRING IN MONEY/GIFT BY FRI DEC 12. I POSTED A COPY OF THE SHEET WE WERE GIVEN BELOW.
Project Angel (Due by Dec 12) (students are to bring in money or a gift or both)
I began the class today by handing back one of the tests the students wrote a few weeks ago (Test #4 on sections 4.2 and 4.4). I then took up the answers to the test on the digital projector (I also posted a copy of the answers below so students can check their work). After taking up the answers to the test, I then asked the students if they had any homework questions for me to take up. There were a few questions which I took up on the black board/digital projector. After taking up the questions I then reminded the students of their unit test tomorrow. I reminded the students that for the unit test, I will be choosing questions from the following pages: Pages 444 & 445 #1 to 8 & 10 to 14 – Chapter Review and Page 446 #1 to 7 – Chapter Self Test. Students are therefore strongly advised to do these questions to help them prepare. I will take up any questions the students have from the above work on Mon Dec 1. Students can also email me directly at abawa@office.ldcsb.on.ca. For those students that are finished everything, I would like them to work on Pages 260 to 262 (Chapter 5 Getting Started) #1 to 10. This is the intro section to the next unit we are going to be working on which is Chapter 5 Trigonometry and Acute Triangles.
