I began the class today by taking up any questions the students had from yesterday’s homework. After taking up the questions on the board, I then told the students to get into the groups I had assigned them to yesterday (please see the Nov 12 blog posting for further details). Once the students got into their groups, we then played a few activities. The first was an class builder to get the students moving and out of their seats before we started the review activity. We then played “Exponents Jeopardy (Review or 7.2 & 7.3)”. I wanted to make sure the students understood the concepts we learned the past week before we moved on. After the activity, I then assigned the homework for the students to work on for the remainder of the period (Page 408 & 409 #6 – 9, 11 & 12 – this is homework for section 7.3).
