I began the class today by letting the grade 11’s (TEJ3M) know that I was very happy with the way they worked yesterday in their groups. A lot of students were able to get ahead with the breadboard trainers and also were able to complete a number of activities (those that were behind and those that were ahead). I then told both the grade 11’s and 12’s (TEJ4M) that we would be taking a break today from what they are working on and would continue on Mon Nov 3 (see the Oct 30 blog posting to see what both the grade 11’s (TEJ3M) and grade 12’s (TEJ4M) are working on currently). I stared the class off by doing rebus puzzles with the students. I did 3 today and for those interested in knowing, I get the rebus puzzles from the following website: http://www.puzzlesoup.com/ (click on “puzzles” on the left hand side, and then “search by category”). I then told the students that I would show them a few Halloween YouTube videos on the digital projector. After showing the students the Halloween YouTube videos, I then broke the class up into 2 groups which I called group A & B. I told the students that we would be playing “Family Feud” until the end of the period (this was the 3rd edition DVD which I brought from home for the students to play). We will continue on Mon Nov 3 with electronics (TEJ3M) and robotics (TEJ4M).
Below you will find a copies of the handouts/worksheets that were distributed/assigned in today’s class.
