REMINDERS: PARENT TEACHER INTERVIEWS ARE OCT 23 SO PLEASE TRY TO BOOK A TIME WITH ME ASAP. PROGRESS REPORTS WERE GIVEN OUT ON FRI OCT 17. STUDENTS ARE TO RETURN THE BOTTOM PORTION OF THE PROGRESS REPORT ASAP (SIGNED BY PARENTS IF YOU ARE LESS THAN 18 YEARS OLD).
I began the class today by checking to see how many of the students had completed their homework from yesterday (this was the EQAO package I gave them, see Oct 22 blog posting for further details). After checking the homework, I then took up the answers to the EQAO package on the digital projector. I told the students that I would also be posting the answers here as well (see the attachment below) so they can go over their answers later if they missed something in class today.
After going over the package, I then reminded the students that they would be having their unit test on chapter 1 of the textbook (Measuring Figures and Objects) on Thur Oct 30. I then told the students that we would be starting our review for the test in class today. I assigned Page 20 #1 to 8 from the textbook for students to work on at their desks. I then went around and helped students and checked their answers. I called up students to the board to put their answers on the board. We did this activity for the remainder of the period today. Before the students left today, I told them that Page 20 #1 – 8 was NOT for homework, but we would continue doing the work in class together on Mon Oct 27 (Note: Students can still do this for homework if they wish to get ahead).
