REMINDERS: PARENT TEACHER INTERVIEWS ARE OCT 23 SO PLEASE TRY TO BOOK A TIME WITH ME ASAP. PROGRESS REPORTS WERE GIVEN OUT ON FRI OCT 17. STUDENTS ARE TO RETURN THE BOTTOM PORTION OF THE PROGRESS REPORT ASAP (SIGNED BY PARENTS IF YOU ARE LESS THAN 18 YEARS OLD).
I began the class today by taking up any questions the students had from yesterday’s homework. There was only 1 question to take up so I took it up on the blackboard. After taking up the questions, I then moved on to the lesson for today which was titled “3.3 Solving Quadratic Equations by Graphing”. The lesson required the students to use the TI-83 calculators. I mentioned to the students that they could use either the virtual TI-83 calculator (students can copy this calculator from the hand-out folder at school to use on their own computer) or they can use the following website: https://www.desmos.com/calculator. I showed the students in class how to use both during the lesson. After the lesson, I then assigned the homework for the students to work on for the remainder of the period (Pages 149 to 151 #3, 4abc, 6, 7 & 10).
