MFM1P – Oct 14, 2014

REMINDER:  PARENT TEACHER INTERVIEWS  ARE OCT 23 SO PLEASE TRY TO BOOK A TIME WITH ME ASAP.

I began the class today by letting the students know that I would be away tomorrow from all my classes for a SCL (Structured Collaborative Learning) meeting.  I told the students that this is 1 out of the 5 days that I will be away for this purpose over the next few months.

I then asked if the students had any questions from the homework I had assigned on Fri Oct 10.  After taking up the questions, I then moved on to the lesson for today which was titled “1.5 Volume of a Prism & a Cylinder”.  I first went over the definitions prisms and then showed the students a examples of various of kinds of prisms.  I then went over the formula for all prisms and then did some examples before assigning the homework for the students to work on for the remainder of the period (Pages 23 #1 – 3).  Because I am away tomorrow, I encourage students to email me if they have any questions about the homework (abawa@office.ldcsb.on.ca).

Below you will find a copies of the handouts/worksheets that were distributed/assigned in today’s class.
