Thanksgiving Food Drive (ends Fri Oct 17)

I began the class today by letting the students know that I would be away tomorrow from all my classes for a SCL (Structured Collaborative Learning) meeting.  I told the students that this is 1 out of the 5 days that I will be away for this purpose over the next few months.

I then told the students that I would give them some extra time to finish their unit test from Fri Oct 10.  There were a number of students that told me before they left for the weekend that they needed some more time to finish their questions so I decided to give the class more time today.

After the students were finished writing their test, I then told the students we would be starting a new lesson today.  The title of the lesson was “3.2 Relating the Standard and Factored Forms”.  I first went over some key concepts related to vertex, standard and factored forms of a quadratic equation.  I then gave the students a few examples before assigning the homework (Page 140 #1 – 4).  Because I am away tomorrow, I encourage students to email me if they have any questions about the homework (abawa@office.ldcsb.on.ca).

Below you will find a copies of the handouts/worksheets that were distributed/assigned in today’s class.
