TEJ3M/4M – Oct 10, 2014


The students had their hardware, number systems & logic gates unit test in class today.  I told the students they had the entire period to do the test if they needed it.  Once they were finished their test, they could either work on their lego mindstorm robots (the grade 12’s only – TEJ4M) or they could continue with their resistors assignment (the grade 11’s only – TEJ3M).  The 2 groups of grade 12’s (TEJ4M) still have to have their video taken by me of their robot completing the first course before moving on to the next task.  For the next task, the students are to build a race car of their own design that will be timed in the hall for 30 tiles (the tiles equal to 30ft in length).  The grade 11’s (TEJ3M) have an extension on their resistors assignment which is now due by the end of class on Tue Oct 14.

Lego NXT robots using NXC tutorial – Part 1 (this is the coding examples for the “Bricx Command Centre” software – The TEJ4M students only)

First Track for Lego Mindstorm Robotics (students have to go around the track twice) (I still have to record video of the 2 groups’ robots completing this course – TEJ4M students only)

Race Car Bot Times (examples) (these are examples of the race bots my students completed in previous years and the times they received for 30 tiles)
