Japan Day – Revised Schedule for the Day
IMPORTANT: WE WILL BE HAVING OUR SECOND UNIT TEST ON FRI OCT 10 COVERING ALL OF THE MATERIAL FROM CHAPTER 2 OF THE TEXTBOOK.
I began the class today by handing back the unit test on functions from chapter 1 that the students wrote last week. I then took up the answers to this unit test briefly on the digital projector and then mentioned to the students that I would be attaching it to today’s blog posting (the answers are posted below). After taking up the answers to the test, I then told the students that we would be doing an activity today to help the students review the material from the factoring unit. There was one student that asked if I could take up a few questions from the homework, but I told him I would take it up tomorrow at the start of class to save some time to do the activity. I put the students into groups of 2 (or 3) and then assigned them some factoring questions to do as a group. Each student in the group was responsible for doing all of the questions I assigned and if they didn’t understand, they were to help each other or ask me for help. I then went around and took pictures of completed questions. I put an example on the board to show the students the expectations for the activity. There was only 1 group that completed their questions so I told the rest of the groups that this was now homework and they are to hand it in to me at the start of class tomorrow. I also assigned some work from the textbook for the students to work on as well for tonight to help them study for the test this Friday (Pages 120 & 121 #1 – 10).
