Japan Day – Revised Schedule for the Day
IMPORTANT: THE STUDENTS WILL BE HAVING A UNIT TEST ON TUE OCT 7 COVERING ALL OF THE MATERIAL FROM CHAPTER 4 OF THE TEXTBOOK (SECTIONS 4.1 TO 4.6).
I began the class today by reminding the students of their unit test tomorrow. I told the students that they were to work on the package titled “EQAO Practice Questions – Ratios & Proportions” which I gave them on Fri Oct 3 and also the homework from the textbook (pages 140 & 141 #1 – 17) which is a review of all of the material from Chapter 4 Ratios and proportions (I will be re-assigning this homework for tonight so the students can review for the test). I first took up the answers to the package “EQAO Practice Questions – Ratios & Proportions” on the digital projector. I went over each of these questions briefly and mentioned that I would be attaching them to this blog posting (I will post it below but it was also posted on the Oct 3 blog posting). After going over the package, I then told the students we would be doing an in-class review based on the homework questions I assigned on Fri Oct 3 (pages 140 & 141 #1 – 17). I put questions up on the board and then students were to try them at their desk. I then went around the room to help the students and then asked students to put up their answers once I checked them. We did this activity for the rest of the period. I then told the students that to study for the test they should be going over the review we did in class and also do the homework from Fri Oct 3. I encourage students to email me if they have any specific questions from the homework (abawa@office.ldcsb.on.ca).
