IMPORTANT: THE STUDENTS WILL BE HAVING A UNIT TEST ON FRI OCT 10 ON BOTH THE HARDWARE AND NUMBER SYSTEM UNITS. I WILL GIVE THE STUDENTS MORE DETAILS ABOUT THE TEST NEXT WEEK AND WILL REVIEW IN MORE DETAIL WHAT THEY NEED TO KNOW FOR THE TEST.
I began the class today by letting the students know that we would be playing a game in class today to help them review for their unit test next week. I have been finding that there are a number of students that have been struggling with the number systems unit, so I thought we could play a game of jeopardy which I created specifically to help students try to understand some of the critical concepts of that unit. I divided the class into 2 teams and then called 1 students up to the front from each team. The students went through most of the questions before we ended up stopping towards the end of the class (I will post a link to the jeopardy game below). I then told the students for the last 15 to 20 minutes of class, we would do rebus puzzles. We will continue on Monday with an activity for the grade 11’s (TEJ3M) that has to do with basic logic gates (the lesson we did yesterday) and the grade 12’s (TEJ4M) will start the lego mindstorm robotics. I ask if the grade 12’s (TEJ4M) students can bring a laptop to school (if they have one).
Below you will find a copies of the handouts/worksheets that were distributed/assigned in today’s class.
