REMINDER: WE HAVE THE TERRY FOX WALK TODAY SO THERE IS A REVISED SCHEDULE FOR THE DAY. YOU WILL FIND THE REVISED SCHEDULE IN A LINK BELOW.
Terry Fox Walk Sept 25, 2014 (Revised Day Schedule)
I began the class today by talking to the students about the quiz they wrote a few days ago (they wrote this quiz on the day I was away Sept 23). I told the students that I had marked the first page, but still needed to mark the second page before handing it back to them. What I noticed from what I marked was that there were far too many students either not asking questions about how to do the work or might not be doing the work at all. I then showed the students the answers the digital projector to go over the answers with them so they could see that it was related to what we have been doing for the past week. I told the students that I would hand their quizzes back to them on Monday but would post the answers to the quiz so they could look them over (see below for quiz answers). After talking to the students, I then took up some questions from the homework I assigned yesterday. After taking up the examples, I then gave the students some homework to do from the textbook. I told the students that I was not going to do a lesson today because of the shortened period, but wanted to let them try the questions first on their own to see if they understood. The section the questions are from is “4.4 Applying Proportional Reasoning” from the textbook. I then told the students to work on their homework for the remainder of the period (page 129 #1 – 6).
Below you will find a copies of the handouts/worksheets that were distributed/assigned in today’s class.
