Terry Fox Walk Sept 25, 2014 (Revised Day Schedule)

There were a number of students that came to me to let me know that they still did not understand the material from the last few days on converting between decimal, binary, hex and octal numbers.  I then handed back the assignment the students wrote yesterday and told the students that we would do some as a class and I would then get them to try the rest.  Some students who had already finished the assignment I told to put some of the answers on the board so the students could check their own answers.  I told the students to mark which ones they got right and try to complete the ones they hadn’t done yet.  By the end of the period, I told the students that if they had now completed the assignment that they were to hand it in.  Otherwise it is for homework and is to be handed in at the start of class.  I will be counting this assignment for bonus marks now for those students that complete it.  A copy of the assignment can be found below.

Sept 24 – Take- up of Binary, Octal, Hexadecimal & Decimal Review (I did one example and also had a few students put up their answers to a few questions from the assignment so students could check their own and also try to learn from what was done)
