I began the class today by reviewing some of the concepts we did in yesterday’s lesson. I went over the lesson on the digital projector with the students so the students could remember what we did. After reviewing yesterday’s lesson, I then told the students that were was one more method that I wanted to show them for example 2 from yesterday’s lesson, so I started by showing them that first. After showing them this method, I then moved on to the lesson for today which was titled “Octal to Decimal (and Vice Versa)”. I began the lesson by talking to the students about what “octal numbers” were and then showed the students how to convert between decimal (base 10) and octal (base 8 numbers) and vice versa. After the lesson, I then gave the students a worksheet to work on for the remainder of the period titled “Octal to Decimal & Decimal to Octal”. I will take up this worksheet in class tomorrow but for those students that would like to check their answers I will post a copy of the answers below.
Below you will find a copies of the handouts/worksheets that were distributed/assigned in today’s class.
