The students had their in-class open book assignment today on all of the material they have learned from chapter 1 since the beginning of the course. Students were given the TI-83 graphing calculators to use during the assignment. The purpose of this assignment is to find out how much the students have understood up to this point so that I can review any material the students are having problems with before they have a major assessment like a unit test (the date this has not yet been decided). The students had the entire period to work on the assignment if they needed it. Once they were finished, I gave them a worksheet to work on at their desks titled “1.4 Exploring Transformations of Quadratic Functions”. The students are to try this worksheet on their own for homework and then we will take it up tomorrow in class. Here is a link to a website that will help the students with the worksheet:
When the students go to this website above, they can enter in values for a, h and k to help them review the concepts for quadratic transformations.
