I mentioned to the students at the start of class that the assignment titled “Computer Ports & Connectors Assignment” (given out on Sept 8) was due by the end of today’s class. I had also given the students the next assignment in class yesterday titled “Custom Made Computer”. I then showed the students on the digital projector my expectations for the assignment. The students are to go to one of the links to a retailer (Eg. tigerdirect) and then are to find the various parts to build a computer within $1500. They are to press “print screen” to take a snapshot of the screen and then go to a photo editing program like “paint” to just crop the picture out showing the price, specifications…etc. Then they are to take this cropped picture and paste it into a word processing program like “Microsoft Word”. Students should have a title for each part and at the end of the assignment total each of the parts up to see if they are within the budget of $1500. Bonus marks will be given to those students that include a title page and a bibliography/reference page. This “Custom Made Computer Assignment” is due by the end of class on Fri Sept 12.
