MFM1P – Sept 9, 2014

I began the class today by taking up the questions from the worksheet yesterday titled “Collecting Like Terms” (I posted the answers on the Sept 8 blog posting as well).  The students were then called down to the gym today for clubs day (we were told the students could browse through the various clubs and hopefully sign up from 1:40pm to 2:15pm).  Once the students came back to class, I then did a lesson which was titled “Adding & Subtracting Fractions”.  I ran out of time in the lesson so I told the students that I would continue the lesson at the start of tomorrow’s class.  I then gave the students a worksheet titled “Adding and Subtracting Fractions”.  The students can try this worksheet out but I will re-assign this worksheet for homework tomorrow after I finish the lesson (students only have to do #1 on the worksheet as we have not yet done questions for #2).  I will not be posting the answers on today’s blog posting for this worksheet so that those students that do not understand how to add/subtract fractions can ask me during our lesson tomorrow.  I will also do multiplying and dividing fractions in tomorrow’s class as well.

below you will find a copies of the handouts/worksheets that were distributed/assigned in today’s class.

Sept 9 – Lesson – Adding & Subtracting Fractions (students only have to do #1 for homework, but I will be re-assigning this worksheet tomorrow)

Sept 9 – Adding & Subtracting Fractions (students can try this worksheet but I will be re-assigning this worksheet tomorrow after I finish the lesson)

      Hi Nicole,
The blog posting for Sept 10 should now be up. I have also posted the answers to the worksheets for adding/subtracting/multiplying/dividing as well. Let me know if you have any other questions. Take care.
