MFM1P – Sept 5, 2014

REMINDER:  STUDENTS ARE REMINDED TO BRING THEIR COURSE OUTLINE TO SCHOOL SIGNED.

The students had their diagnostic test today at the start of the class.  I had mentioned to the students that they had the entire period to do the test if they needed it.  I also mentioned to the students that there would be a letter going home for parents that explains what this diagnostic is for (a copy can be found below).  The students will not be getting these diagnostics back but can ask me how they did once they have been marked.  These diagnostics will be used strictly for the purpose of designing the course to meet the needs of the students.  Once the students were finished their diagnostic sheets, I gave them a worksheet titled “BEDMAS Worksheet” to work on for the remainder of the period.  Whatever the students don’t finish from this worksheet is for homework.  I will take up both the “Exponents Worksheet” from yesterday and the “BEDMAS Worksheet” from today at the start of class on Mon Sept 8.  I mentioned to the students that I would post all of the answers to the worksheets I gave them since Wed Sept 3 until today.

Below you will find a copies of the handouts/worksheets that were distributed/assigned in today’s class.
